The Knox County Emergency Communications District handles many
telephone calls and creates many CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch)
records every year.
The following statistics show some of what we do.
Last year we answered 619,217 telephone calls. Of these 298,415 were
911 calls. More than 90% of the 911 calls were answered in the first
10 seconds.
As many as 65% of the 911 calls came from wireless phones (cell
phones).
There were 568,998 incidents created in the dispatch system.
The radio system used by the Police, Sheriff and Fire Departments
logged 901,646 minutes of airtime.
